Drum Lesson and Percussion Lesson Types
Rudimental Drumming Makes One a Percussionist!

Exceptionally Strong Rudimental Drum Lessons

Quite possibly, one of the most important starting elements of great percussion is learning rudiments. Percussion rudimentary skills transfer to any percussion instrument. They improve coordination, syncopation and timing, (especially when using a check pattern with a metronome when playing).

Of course, in all lessons, Jim brings in elements of rudiments but this is a great starting point for those wanting to improve Marching Percussion, Mallets or Drum Set skills!
Mallet instrument lessons including marimbal, vibes, xilophone and bells...

Sticking concepts, styles, technique, scales, tonal relationships, four mallet techniques and more!
Drum Set Lessons!

Drum Set or Drum Kit Lessons

Many beginning students want to learn the drum set. It seems to be the "coolest" of choices.

Jim will teach drum set (he can really tear it up on a kit) however, an aptitude and skill level assessment will be given first. Rudimental training is known to improve drum set performance also. Initial consultation is complimentary to determine the best route to meet a student's goals.
Younger kids are taking it on to excel!

Younger Students Can Do Drums!

We have been pleasantly surprised in the younger aged students (7-10). They are rising to the occassion to exceed the basic standards. We have been amazed how younger students master what they are expected to master because they do not know where the "limits" are.

Making music is essential for healthy development of children. We also have early preschool programs.
